Like every cultural country, we will always find subcultures that define certain groups of people. In England we find many groups such as Rockers, Punks, Old Timers, etc. The groups that stand out the most are the Punks in the 80´s that are recognized for their challenging crests that are a symbol of rebellion. On the other hand we find the Old Timers that is a group that has been obsessed with fashion in the old days, their dances and elegance. These are two clear examples of subcultures in England. With which one do you identify more?
In life we find people with different personalities and cultures, that is why today we will talk about the Lewis Model. The Lewis Model consists on 3 stereotypes, which are linear-active, multi-active and reactive. These stereotypes can categorize countries and make their citizens take such behaviors and customs, so when traveling or moving to another country it can be very difficult to adapt. Here in Colombia people are very happy, flexible with schedules, bustling, they are more multi-active, while in England people are more strict, punctual and may bother or find it difficult to adapt to a country like Colombia. My advice is to try to enjoy this beautiful country and be flexible to change.

Today we are going to talk about gender roles, and we will compare how are they lived in England and in Colombia.
We know that in Colombia, the media show men as workers, the breadwinner of the house, strong, unsensitive and sport guy. While women are the ones that stay at home, do house chores, are the ones in charge of the kids and the ones who maintains the house in order. It is important to clarify that there are exceptions but mainly this is how the gender role works in Colombia.
On the other hand, England has the same perception of gender roles. Their media show the men as breadwinner too and show the women as a housewife. That´s the reason why the British Government denied all the gender stereotypes in publicity. The men and the women have the same rights and the same abilities so, they must have the same opportunity.

Today I want to talk about the stereotypes we usually have about the British, that is why I have made this drawing in which we can see an English gentleman.
In movies, series and other media, we can see different customs of other cultures, if we focus on the English culture, we can see that the first thing that we think about them is that most are elegant, sophisticated and well-dressed people simply because of their refined accent. Then we think of the physical, we think of some who are light – eyes as we can see in the drawing.
With this drawing I tried to show with the suit and the hat, that the British tend to dress well, some are always well dressed and with the moustache, I wanted to show how they tend to be sophisticated and very polite.
